The owner of a 2007 Nissan Altima contacted the Palm Springs Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later officers from the Indio Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of Jackson Street and Show Case Blvd in the city of Indio. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in April 2007 at Empire Nissan in Ontario, California.
