The owners of a 2001 Honda Accord contacted the San Bernardino Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen by a known suspect. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

In less than eleven (11) minutes, officers from the Covina Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a parking lot of a large retail complex and located it parked and occupied by a female adult sitting behind the steering wheel. As they approached, they observed two additional females approaching the Honda. All three suspects were detained without further incident.

The field investigation revealed the female inside the Honda Accord was in fact the listed suspect. One of the other females had an outstanding warrant for vehicle theft. All three suspects were booked for the theft and additional charges. The undamaged Honda was stored for safe keeping. Case referred to detectives for filing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in March 2004 at Inland Pontiac GMC Buick in San Bernardino, California.
