The owners of a 2015 Kia Sorento contacted the Chino Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Chino.

The Chino PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.

At a later time, officers from the Blythe Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Kia to the 900 block of Hobson Way in the city of Blythe. A traffic stop was made; a male and a female suspect were detained. The male suspect was arrested for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and violation of parole.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Kia Sorento in December 2014 at Citrus Motors Inc. in Ontario, California.
