The owner of a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta contacted the Riverside Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Riverside.

The Riverside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

A short while later, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Volkswagen to the area of Doral and Ryder Ave in the city of Moreno Valley. A traffic stop was made and one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen Jetta in November 2015 at Diamond Bar Honda in California.
