The owner of a Chrysler PT Cruiser contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Moreno Valley.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

A short while later, deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chrysler to the 15000 block of Perris Blvd in Moreno Valley. The Riverside County Regional Auto Theft Detail (RAID) responded and set surveillance on the Chrysler. A short while later the Chrysler was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler Cruiser in October 2003 at Carson Chrysler Plymouth in Carson, California.
