The owner of a 2002 GMC Yukon contacted the Martinez Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen. The owner advised the GMC had been taken from in front of their residence in the overnight hours.

The Martinez PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC Yukon.

A short while later, a vehicle theft investigator from the California Highway Patrol Golden Gate Division Investigative Services Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigator tracked the GMC to the area of Tennessee Street near Edwards Circle in the city of Vallejo, where the stolen vehicle was found parked unoccupied at the curb. Surveillance was conducted on the GMC but no suspects were located.

The GMC was recovered by the CHP and the very grateful owner responded to the scene to pick up their vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 GMC Yukon in July 2005 at Puente Hills Chevrolet in Industry, California.
