The owner of a 2012 Honda Civic contacted the Livermore Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The Livermore PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

A short while later, an officer from the Livermore PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Honda Civic was tracked to the student parking lot of the community college where the vehicle was found unoccupied.

The Honda was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in September 2013 at Honda of Serramonte in California.
