The owner of a used car sales company contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that a female suspect recently purchased a 2007 Hummer H3 with fraudulent identification.

The Phoenix PD verified the fraudulent purchase/theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hummer.

Twenty minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hummer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Hummer to the area of 83rd Avenue and Interstate 10.

The Hummer was found occupied and travelling on the freeway. The Phoenix PD officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the female driver without incident. The female driver was identified as the same suspect who had fraudulently purchased the Hummer. The suspect was arrested and the Hummer was recovered in good condition. The Hummer was later released back to the company.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hummer H3 in July 2007 at Mark Christopher Auto Center in Ontario, California.
