The owners of a 2014 Honda CR-V contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda CR-V.

A short while later officers working the LAPD Hollywood Division Gang Enforcement Detail received a radio call from the LAPD Air-16 who had picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Air 16 tracked the Honda to Sunset Ave and Formosa directing the officers to the stolen Honda. They followed the Honda to La Brea and Sunset Blvd where the vehicle pulled into a service station. At that time the officers detained the male driver and female passenger. During the field investigation the officers were told by the driver that a male had given him the Honda. The driver suspect was subsequently arrested and booked for the theft of the Honda and driving without a license. The female was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest and was booked on that warrant. The Honda was stored for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CR-V in November 2014 at Honda of Downtown Los Angeles in California.
