The owners, a car dealership, of a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. They stated they conducted an inventory of their vehicles and discovered the Dodge Ram missing from their storage lot.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Just 15 minutes later officers from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department and the West Sacramento Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to residential area of 3800 block Eagle St in West Sacramento. The Dodge was parked and abandoned on the street.

The dealership was contacted and responded to the scene to take possession of their Dodge.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Ram in February 2017 at Sacramento Chrysler Dodge Jeep in California.
