The owners of a 2008 Toyota Tacoma awoke to find their vehicle missing from their residence and immediately contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and filed a theft report. The Montgomery County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Tacoma.

A short while later troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Toyota to a public roadway when he found it had just been involved in a one vehicle minor crash. The trooper observed a male subject setting behind the wheel and immediately arrested him. The subject was a parole violator with outstanding felony warrants, possession of a handgun and driving a stolen vehicle. The subject was charged with several felony warrants and placed in the Montgomery County detention center. The Toyota sustained damage and was stored pending notification of the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in February 2009 at Star Toyota in Houston, Texas.
