The owners of a 2007 Nissan Altima contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Moreno Valley.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within 18 minutes, officers from the Riverside Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of 9th Street and Victoria in the city of Riverside. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in May 2007 at Metro Nissan in Montclair, California.
