The owner of a 2009 Toyota Corolla contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Temecula.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 7 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to the 41500 block of Kalamia Street in the city of Murrieta. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in January 2009 at Toyota of Chula Vista in California.
