The owners of a 2006 Mazda MPV contacted the Riverside Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Riverside.

The Riverside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

At a later time, officers from the Riverside PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to the area of Canyon Crest and Elgin Blvd in the city of Riverside.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda MPV in February 2006 at Norco Mazda in California.
