The manager in charge of fleet at a local dealership contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that a 2016 Mercedes Benz was stolen from their lot in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within 18 minutes, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the 900 block of Ladiosa Court in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in November 2015 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
