A car dealership who owned a 2015 Dodge Dart contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated a suspect presented themselves at the dealership and purchased the used 2015 Dodge Dart. The next day it was discovered this person obtained the vehicle through stolen / fraudulent information they provided on the credit application.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Less than an hour later officers from the Citrus Heights Police Department and the California Highway Patrol Air Operations picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the parking lot near Sunrise Blvd and Greenback Ave. The officers then tracked and located the Dodge parked and unattended in front of a large restaurant.

The officers then towed and stored the Dodge for safe keeping to be released to the dealership later.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Dodge Dart just two weeks earlier at Sacramento Chrysler Dodge Jeep in California.
