The owner of a 2017 Honda Accord contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The Honda was taken from the victim’s address in the 37000 block of Magnolia Street.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short time later, officers from the San Francisco Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) which are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to the parking area of Coit Tower where they located the vehicle.

The Honda was recovered and towed/stored to be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in January 2017 at Honda of Hayward in California.
