The owners of a 2007 Nissan Maxima contacted the Citrus Heights Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim, who lives in a gated senior community, discovered the Nissan missing when she went out to go shopping.

The Citrus Heights PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Tracking Began in 15 Minutes – Suspect Arrested

Less than 15 minutes later, officers from the Rocklin Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the area of 4800 Granite Drive and observed the vehicle in a market parking lot occupied by a male suspect. Officers conducted a felony stop and detained the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for auto theft and receiving stolen property. The suspect also had outstanding warrants and was on probation.

The victim was contacted, responded to the location and took possession of her Nissan.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Maxima in April 2007 at Shingle Springs Nissan in California.
