The owners of a Mercedes Benz contacted the Torrance Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of Torrance.

The Torrance PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

Within 7 minutes, officers from the Riverside Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the area of 11900 block of Herman Street in the city of Riverside.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in February 2004 at Mercedes Benz of South Bay in Torrance, California.
