The owner of a 2010 BMW X5 contacted the Corona Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Corona.

The Corona PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within a short while, officers from the Riverside Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the area of Tomlinson and Sharon Ave in the city of Riverside. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW X5 in February 2010 at Crevier BMW Motors Inc. in Santa Ana, California.
