
LoJack System Helps Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Toyota MTX

The owner of a 2003 Toyota Matrix contacted the Beaumont Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Beaumont.
The Beaumont PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.
Within a short time, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to the 500 block of Cherokee Blvd in the city of Perris. The suspect was seen walking away from the stolen Toyota he was detained and taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota MTX in September 2002 at Toyota of Orange County in Orange, California.
