The owner of a 2003 BMW M3 contacted the Livermore Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim advised his BMW was taken from the municipal parking garage in the 2300 block of Railroad Avenue. The Livermore PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW M3.

A short time later, officers from the Dublin Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen BMW to the multi-level parking garage for a large apartment complex in the 3000 block of Maguire Way where they found the vehicle occupied by a female driver and male passenger. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

The BMW was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW M3 in September 2003 at Shelly BMW in Buena Park, California.
