The owner of a 2015 Mercedes Benz CL200 contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

At a later time, officers from the Chula Vista PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the 100 block of Monte Vista Drive in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in January 2015 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
