The owner of a 2016 Mazda MZ3 contacted the Chula Vista Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

At a later time, officers from the Chula Vista PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to a commercial parking lot located in the 1360th block of East Lake Parkway in the city of Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda MZ3 in April 2016 at Galpin Mazda in Van Nuys, California.
