The owner of a 2014 Subaru Impreza contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Within 10 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Subaru to the area of 36th Street and Ocean View Blvd in San Diego. A female suspect was observed in the driver’s seat and one male passenger on the right front seat. The Subaru began to drive away, units followed until the vehicle came to a stop at a commercial parking lot located in the 900 block of Sweetwater Road in Spring Valley. Three suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. A hand gun was also found inside the Subaru.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Impreza in September 2014 at Pacific Subaru in Torrance, California.
