The owner of a Ford Expedition contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Riverside.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 27 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to the 4700 block of Pala Road in Fallbrook. A traffic stop was made and two suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Expedition in January 2000 via Direct Sales in Los Angeles, California.
