The owner of a 2008 Ford Expedition contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of South Lake Elsinore.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 4 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to View Point and Sellers Street in South Lake Elsinore. A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Expedition in November 2010 at Dobbs Ford in Memphis, Tennessee.
