The owners of a 2009 Ford Focus contacted the El Cajon Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of El Cajon.

The El Cajon PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within a short while, officers from the El Cajon PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford Focus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the 600 block of Madison Ave in El Cajon.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus in September 2009 at Wondries Ford in Alhambra, California.
