The owners of a 2005 Saab 9-2X contacted the Denver Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence near I-25 and South Parker Road in Denver.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saab.

Minutes later officers from several law enforcement agencies; Adams County, Denver, Aurora, Thornton and Westminster, were picking up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Saab with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Relying on the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, officers with the Denver PD tracked the Saab to an apartment house parking lot near the 200 block of South Joliet Street.

The Saab was found unoccupied but undamaged. It was returned to the owners who were unaware, but pleasantly surprised, that their Saab had previously been equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saab 9-2X in October 2005 at Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel in California.
