The owner of a 2014 Honda Accord contacted the Fremont Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim stated their vehicle keys had been stolen from their locker at a local gym. When the owner went out to the parking lot they discovered their Honda was missing. The Fremont PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short time later, investigators from the Santa Clara County Regional Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) which are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to the parking lot of another gym at North Capitol Avenue and McKee Road in the city of San Jose, where the vehicle was found parked, unoccupied. Surveillance was set up on the Honda but no suspects were located. Investigators are conducting follow up at the gym where the Honda was located to attempt to identify the suspect(s).

The stolen Honda Accord was recovered and was towed/stored to be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August 2006 at Auto Nation Honda Fremont in California.
