The owner of a 2008 Honda Odyssey contacted the San Jose Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The San Jose PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Odyssey.

A short time later, investigators from the Santa Clara County Vehicle Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) which are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to the residential area of Lancelot Lane and Venice Street in the city of San Jose where the vehicle was found parked at the curb, unoccupied. The Honda’s license plates had been replaced with dealer placards to attempt to conceal the vehicle’s identity from law enforcement but the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System confirmed the vehicle to be stolen. Surveillance was set up on the Honda but no suspects were located.

The stolen Honda Odyssey was recovered and towed/stored to be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Odyssey in August 2008 at Auto Nation Honda Fremont in California.
