The owners of a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 1100 block of East Carson. The owner told police that she has a standard practice of leaving her purse under the front seat of her car and many times she forgets to lock the car. This particular time she was pretty sure that she did not lock her Jaguar. She went into her residence for the night and when she returned she found her Jaguar missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jaguar.

A short while later officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jaguar with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Jaguar to a residential address in the 1400 block of Jessica. The residents at the address stated that the Jaguar was left there during the night and unknown by whom. The Jaguar was recovered and returned back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jaguar XJ8 in July 2008 at Hornburg Jaguar in Santa Monica, California.
