The owner of a 1996 Infiniti J30 contacted the Oakland Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  The owner said the Infiniti had been taken from the 200 block of MacArthur Boulevard.

The Oakland PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti J30.

A short while later, officers from the Oakland PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers in both the departmental helicopter and ground units tracked the stolen Infiniti to the 6600 block of Dana Street where they found the vehicle unoccupied.

The Infiniti was recovered and towed/stored to be returned to the owner.  This was the second theft and then recovery of this Infiniti via the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System within five months.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti J30 in September 2001 at Glendale Infiniti in California.
