The owners (car dealership) of a 2016 Chrysler 200 contacted the Yuba City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The dealership stated the Chrysler was a rental vehicle and was last seen about two weeks prior.  The Chrysler was apparently taken from a back lot.

The Yuba City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

A short while later officers from the California Highway Patrol Air Operations Air-21 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The Airship requested ground units respond and assist. The Yuba City PD responded. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chrysler to a residential area near Hwy 99 and Hull Road.  The officers observed the Chrysler parked in a driveway unoccupied. The officers contacted the individuals inside the residence and questioned them.  The investigation continues.

The Chrysler was recovered and released back to the dealership.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Chrysler 200 in June 2016 at John L. Sullivan Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Yuba City, California.
