The owner of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Suburban.

Around thirty minutes after the activation, deputies with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suburban with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopter. Deputies tracked and located the Suburban to the area of Eubank and I-40 where they found it parked in the parking lot of a shopping center. The owner was notified of the recovery and responded to take possession of his Suburban.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Suburban in May 2004 at Toyota Place in Garden Grove, California.
