The owner of a 2013 Honda Pilot contacted the Alameda Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim stated they discovered their Honda missing from the parking lot where they work in the 13000 block of Marina Village Parkway. The theft occurred between 1 pm and 5 pm.

The Alameda PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Pilot.

A short time later, a deputy from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department assigned to their Transit Crimes Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Pilot with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) which are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputy tracked the stolen Honda to the area of Ellington Way and Hawkins Drive in east Oakland, where they found the stolen Honda Pilot parked, unoccupied at the curb. Surveillance was set up for a time but no suspect(s) were located.

The Honda was recovered and the very grateful owner responded to the scene to pick up their vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Pilot in March 2015 at Honda of Hayward in California.
