The owner of a 2006 Honda Ridgeline called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen from the area of Eubank and Chico in the Foothills Area Command. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within minutes after the activation, flight officers with the Albuquerque PD, flying in Air5, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the flight officers tracked the Honda to the Valley Area Command. The flight officers directed ground units to the area of 12th and Marquette where the Honda was found parked along the curb and unoccupied.

Officers attempted to contact the owner about the speedy recovery and to come to the scene to take possession of their Honda. However, the owner was unable to be contacted and officers towed the Honda from the scene for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Ridgeline in November 2006 at Kolbe Honda in Reseda, California.
