The owner of a 2012 BMW 528 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within a short while, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the 500 block of College Grove Way in the city of San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 528 in May 2012 at BMW of San Diego in California.
