The owner of a BMW 330 contacted the Calexico Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Calexico.

The Calexico PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

At a later time, deputies from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Arrests Made of Three Suspects

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the BMW to the area of McCabe Road west of Highway 86 in the city of El Centro.  A traffic stop was made; three suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 330 in August 2007 at BMW of Laguna Niguel in California.
