The owner of a 2016 Scion IA contacted the Indio Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in Indio.

The Indio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

Within 9 minutes, officers from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to the area of Mesquite Avenue North of Ironwood Road in the city of Desert Hot Springs.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion IA in April 2016 at Toyota of the Desert in Cathedral City, California.
