LoJack System Helps Dallas Police Department Recover a Stolen Chevrolet Camaro

The owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro contacted the Denton Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner parked her Chevrolet at her apartment complex and when she returned to it found it missing. She stated that she kept a spare key to the Camaro inside the center console.
The Denton PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Camaro.
Later, officers from the Dallas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camaro with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Camaro to a gas station in the 2200 block of W Northwest Hwy. One suspect was pumping gas into the Camaro, while three other suspects sat inside the car. Officers were able to apprehend all four suspects before they could drive off in the stolen Camaro. All four suspects had warrants out for their arrests and they were all in possession of illegal drugs. All four were arrested. This Camaro was recovered in good condition.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Camaro in May 2011 at Singh Chevrolet in Riverside, California.
