The victim, an auto dealership, of a 2016 Infiniti Q70 contacted the Redding Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim came to work and discovered the Infiniti missing and glass from a broken window in the space where the vehicle had been parked overnight.

The Redding PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

Air and Surface Units Track Stolen Vehicle

Just over an hour later, officers from the California Highway Patrol Air Operations H14 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The Air Unit requested assistance from ground units to track the stolen Infiniti. Officers from the Redding PD responded.

Two Suspects Arrested and Booked on Several Charges

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Infiniti to the area of Park Marina Dr and Athens St. There three suspects jumped from the Infiniti and fled on foot. Two of the suspects were chased into a residence and captured. These two suspects were arrested and booked on various charges including narcotics and warrants.

The victim was contacted and responded to pick up the recovered Infiniti.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti Q70 in May 2017 (three days before the theft) at Crown Motors in Redding, California.
