The owner of a 2010 Saab 93 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saab.

At a later time officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saab with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Saab to the 1800 block of Garnet Street in the city of San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saab in March 2001 at Sunnyvale Volkswagen in California.
