The owners of a Nissan Frontier contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of Oceanside.

The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within 5 minutes officers from the Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan Frontier with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Nissan to Carlsbad Village Drive and Harding Avenue in the city of Carlsbad.  A traffic stop was made and one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Frontier in June 2003 at Mossy Nissan in Oceanside, California.
