The owner of a 2005 Acura MDX contacted the San Jose Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The victim stated they discovered the Acura missing from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the 900 block Rancho Place.

The San Jose PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura MDX.

A short while later an officer from the San Leandro Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officer tracked the stolen Acura and observed it being driven by a male subject.  A traffic stop was made in the 600 Lewelling Boulevard and the suspect was taken into custody.

The Acura was recovered and towed/stored to be returned back to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura MDX in January 2005 at Thomas Acura in Covina, California.
