The owner of a 2006 Toyota Corolla contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of El Cajon.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 6 minutes, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to East Main Street and Madison Ave in the city of El Cajon.  A traffic stop was made and two suspects were taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in December 2005 at Claremont Toyota in California.
