The owner of a Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Fontana.

The Fontana PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Within 30 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Chevrolet to the area of Etiwanda and Limonite in Jurupa Valley.  The Air Unit directed ground units and after a short foot pursuit, one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in September 2005 at Enterprise Gardena in Palmdale, California.
