The owner of a 2006 BMW 325i contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Jurupa Valley.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

At a later time, officers from the Murrieta Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the BMW to the area of Murrieta Hot Springs and Jefferson Blvd in the city of Murrieta.  A traffic stop was made and one suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 325i on February 2006 at Irvine BMW in California.
