The owner of a Nissan Titan contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Marcos.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within 15 minutes, officers from the Escondido Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Nissan to the 700 block of West Valley Parkway in the city of Escondido.  A traffic stop was made; one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Titan in December 2003 at Mossy Nissan in Escondido, California.
