The owners of a Nissan Altima contacted the Oceanside Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen in the city of Oceanside.

The Oceanside PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Air Unit and officers from the Carlsbad Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan Altima with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to an apartment complex parking lot located in the 1000 block of Palm Ave in the city of Carlsbad.  Two suspects were detained and arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in May 2005 at Mossy Nissan in Oceanside, California.
